its saturday morning here in the eastern european country of ukraine. the weather is something of an odd choice, cloudy and windy, but in sunlight, hot and sweaty. the weather here reminds me much of a certain city in utah. my host family, well lets just discuss the word "host" real quick. i don't really admire that word too much, "host" sounds like a title or something that gets taken advantage of, like a flea will find a host. so i will call them by their last name, of which i don't know, so i will call them pecharska family, which is my metro stop. so the pecharska family, lena and anya, left this morning at 10 am. i was still pretending to be in slumber, but once the front door, which weighs about the same as an adult human, shut i jumped out of my bed which is constructed with a blue quilt which i love very much, and yelled "i am alone!" i am not alone much here, which is difficult because i find much peace and meditation in being alone. i can gather my thoughts and ponder on things. so this morning, until they grace with their presence once more, that is hopefully what i will do. so how is america? still red, white and blue? last night, friday night, we (ashley, kylie and i) tried to find the cinema which is/was playing a swedish film i really would like to see. since we don't speak/read russian it seems to create a lot of problems in our daily life. side note: this bird ringing sound keeps playing, i don't know whether it is the door bell or telephone, but it is loud and alarming. back to confusion in the ussr, so we stumbled upon what we thought was the cinema, which only proved to be an adult movie theatre, need i say more. so we went to dinner, at 9:00 pm. we tend to eat at this cafe place a lot, i only say a lot cause we have been two times prior to this. so i can say we eat there a lot. the reason being is that all the food is shown and you can choose what you eat, instead of the usual order and guess and eat and gag method. so i usually get potato themed things and blini and tea. but last night, oh how i regreted my decisions. i ordered what i thought was a cabbage filled round looking thing. sadly to be dissapointed with a fish and chicken and cheese round looking thing. my mouth was pissed. but if i didn't try it i wouldn't know it wasn't filled with cabbage and i would wonder till my dying day, what was the round looking thing. today, as in saturday, i am going to st. sophia's cathedral. i am looking very much forward to this. i love cathedrals. and the ones i have breifly seen here are rare gems. i am going to budapest and vienna in two weeks. i am excited. ttyl.
